  • Development of your personal story highlighting your individual strengths, including academic, personal, and extracurricular activities. Assessments, such as Diagnostic Tests for the PSAT, ACT, SAT, Myers-Briggs, Career and Parent Questionnaires, will be used. Course selection and registration for classes is discussed.

  • Selection of colleges best suited to your objectives and strengths, and an individualized application strategy. Also, information on financial aid and scholarships.

Schedule of Meetings

Meetings are unlimited. This is a general overview. There are also unlimited phone calls and e-mails – whatever it takes to have a good outcome and happy clients!

Introductory Meeting and Initial Consultation . A meeting with the student and parent(s) to share information and outline responsibilities, go over school records, test scores, activities, volunteer work, career goals, etc. Also, to discuss the parent’s perspective on the student’s strengths, weaknesses, interests, and academic preferences. The student may be asked to take a sample PSAT, ACT, or SAT. The student is given a packet of information relating to the process, information on testing, and a copy of The Common Application. Parents are given a questionnaire to take home, fill out, and bring to the next meeting.

College Selection Meeting . A meeting with the student and parent(s). The student is guided through a detailed college selection survey to understand college preferences. Parents are asked for their input, as well. Individual concerns, such as athletics, performing arts, special programs and majors, and support for learning disabilities, are discussed. Financial aid questions and scholarships will also be discussed.

Preliminary List . Researching and creating the annotated list of up to 20 recommended colleges based upon the college selection meeting and gathering of information.

Presentation of College Recommendations . A meeting with the student and parent(s). The list of colleges recommended is discussed, as well as an overview of the application process and making college visits. An individual application strategy is designed in terms of which colleges to apply to, how to apply (early decision or regular decision), and how to best present the student to the colleges. The student receives a personalized College Planning Guide and Organizer.

Student Meetings . Review of the college list, resume application strategies, essay, testing, interviews, and anything else regarding the application process.

Student Meetings . The student is assisted with their college applications, essays, resume, and interviews. This is unlimited in terms of time and is personalized for every student and the colleges they apply for.

Student and Parent Final Meeting . A meeting with the student and parent(s) to review college responses and help in making the final college selection decision. The student is given a College Success Guide.
